VBS
Sharing some photos from VBS last week. The evil one was really at work trying to keep us from sharing Jesus' love with the kids. Two different times they were told that they could not come, but two different times, the Lord sent an opportunity for us to get them there.
This was an awesome curriculum. We used Group's Jerusalem Market Place. This is something that I have wanted to do since I saw it several years ago at my sisters church. As we were wrapping up the week, I heard whisperings that certain persons might be open to do the same program for next year. This program is so rich in the history of God's people and their traditions.
The kids were divided up into the tribes of Israel, thus J green scarf with the snake for the tribe of Dan. He and G were working in the carpentry shop in that photo. K was the candy store man. I was a tribe leader, the tribe of Benjamin! The photo of B was in the carpentry shop also he was building the cross for the crucifixion.

Confirmation
As a I said yesterday we headed home early so that B could take part in the confirmation service on Sunday morning. He has been attending a confirmation class since last September.
And has decided to join the church at this time as a full member. Ben was baptised as an infant, where we as his parents promised to raise him in a loving christian home and to make sure that the church was a part of his life. I guess our job is complete. He is now a member of the church by his own choice.
I can not say that I have been excited about this, just because I was not sure if this was his choice or not. But as I sat in the service yesterday my heart was softened, and I realized that there was not a better Mother's Day present that any one could hope for, than to watch her "awfully grown up looking son join" the church.

Children's Christmas Play at Church

This is the Christmas play that we did at our church. J was a mouse. G was a sparrow and B was a rapping camel. We have been praticing since Thanksgiving and even as late as Saturday there was much disorder at pratice.
In the end the kids pulled it off. The individual personalities of the children in our little congregation really lent it self to the play.
The Mouse's Tale is the Christmas story, narrated by Granny Mouse, and told by the animals in the stable Christmas night. Meet the animals... -the donkey who carried Mary to Bethlehem, -the cow who gave up his manger for the baby Jesus' bed, -the sheep who saw the angels on the hilltop, and -the camels who were guided by a bright star in the East...as they witnessed the miracle of Jesus' birth.
