Happy Birthday to Jacob and Graham.

Happy 15th Birthday to these two cuties. Teenagers are not as cute as this. They were right at 1 year old in this photo. Eating sand was their favorite activity on their first trip to the beach.  Last month when we were at the beach their favorite activity seemed to be burring each other in the sand : /
And for the birthday celebration tonight they will be in the stands playing with the band. NoFo won their division, played and won their first state play off game since 1983 last Friday night. Go Vikes!

14 Years and 4 Days

14 years and 4 days I have been waiting for this. Note the big red stamp at the bottom of the page. I don't even mind that it is going to cost me a wad of money.
Oh the joys of being a mother of a 14 year old. This photo was made Saturday on his birthday. He spent the day messing around the house, and Saturday night he went to help a friend out at a fundraiser for an Eagle Scout Project. I told him Saturday night that I was sorry he did not have a big celebration. He said "Thats OK Mommy, I got to spend time with my family and most kids don't get to do that."

A Little Scrapping for NEW Years Eve.

Happy New Year!

What could be better than to end the
blogging year with a scrapbook page?
This is one I did a few days ago. There was a bit too much testosterone in my house so I needed to work on some pink girly stuff. Pink and Barbie on the same page! This was my niece's 3rd Birthday. I made her a Barbie doll cake.
Used a sketch from SBEtc and my cupcake QK. Sorry about the bad photo of the page. I was just so happy to get the photos arranged in a different way. The two bottom photos actually started out as one.

Birthday Boys

Here is a little quicky of the boys and the ugliest birthday cake ever! Oh well G man and I had lots of giggles and laughs puting it together. They celebrated their birthday with a chicken stew at Pappaw and Mammaw's, complete with roasted hotdogs and marsh mellows.

Can't believe my babies are 10 years old!
On other related notes: We, have been discussing the possibility of having a chicken stew every year for their birthday party. I am thinking that would help me in not knowing what to plan, because of the weather, this time of year. And I am thinking on the years it comes after Thanksgiving, people can just bring their left over turkey, toss it into the pot and not have to worry with turkey left overs! What do you think?

The Last Day of my Richard Petty Year...

A welcome gift from God for the last few days is the change in the weather. It has been cool, sunny and breezy here, although today in the forecast they are calling for some rain. That's OK we need that more than we need the glorious fall like weather. I have tryed to get a photo of the humming bird at my window. He sits on top of the feeder with his feathers all puffed up, looking in like, "you need to put some food in this feeder!"

I don't have much planned on this auspicious day, just a walk at the park, some house work that I didn't do yesterday and some stressing over homework this afternoon.

This past year has not been really different from the other 42. I have enjoyed watching B mature so, much. I can't believe my child is a good 3 or 4 inches taller than I. I guess my biggest achievements for this past year are camping, going to summer camp for a week and my new found love of Nordic walking. I guess those are good things, since they are all healthy and family oriented, right?

Off to work on some chicken stew for supper. Yum yum!

The Birthday Boy/Teenager

Here is the birthday boy a few days late. We celebrated his birthday by going to "Mayberry Shazam" in Pilot Mnt. As usual he enjoyed it.

Happy Birthday to J and G

J and G's birthday was yesterday, Thanksgiving. Yesterday morning we got up lazed around the house. They opened their presents a new bike helment and a set of cars from the movie "CARS". Then we went to Uncle and Aunt home for lunch and most of the family was there. Uncle decided that the twins needed a birthday cake with the appropriate bees wax candle to blow out. About 6 or so we headed to Nana's. When we walked in the door all 25+/- people started singing happy birthday to them. J acted like he was going to crawl under the rug. He was very embarassed.
We have more festivities planed for the day. I will tell you about those later.
Happy Black Friday!
