Today...

I have been collecting herbs for VBS.
I have found in my yard (and windowsill) sage, rosemary, parsley, aloe, lambs ear, mullein and mint. I did not realize until today that roses are sometimes considered herbs, I have heard in the past that they are eatable.
Here are some Bible verses that mention herbs:
Cinnamon-Solomon 4:14, when he is expressing his affection to his lover. "Nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all the trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, along with the finest spices. You are a garden spring,..".
Dill-Matthew 23:3, "Woe unto you...hypocrites. For you tithe mint and dill and cumin and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness."
Mint-Matthew 23:3, "Woe unto you...hypocrites. For you tithe mint and dill and cumin and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness;".
Rose-(Isaiah 35:1) The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the rose.
Aloe-Numbers 24:6) Like valleys that stretch afar, like gardens beside a river, like aloes that the Lord has planted, like cedar trees beside the waters.
…they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen clothes with the spices{ myrrh and aloes}, as is the burial custom of the Jews. [John 19: 39-40
